LEGO Toy Drive for Hurricane Relief

Hi all,

As previously noted, there are opportunities for LEGO fans to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina, including making donations to the Red Cross matched by LEGO and participating in auctions to benefit relief organizations. But we also wanted to develop a more personal opportunity to aid families.

Huge numbers of families have lost everything in the storm and flooding, and a large number of these are now in Texas. TexLUG member and Classic-Castle administrator Anthony Sava has offered to act as a collecting point for a LEGO toy drive. Here's the idea - Go buy a set, and mail it to Anthony in the next couple of weeks. He will gather these together and deliver them to the Houston chapter of the Salvation Army, who are distributing supplies to affected families. If you are unable to mail a set, Anthony will also accept PayPal payments, which he will then use to add more sets to the pile.

To get Anthony's postal address, please e-mail him at savatheaggie-AT-ev1-DOT-net

As a LEGO fan, you know how fun it is to open a new set. Let's share a little of that happiness with kids who are feeling lost right now.

Thanks,
VignetteBricks
