Pieces of eight
Forbidden Cove is celebrating their second anniversary by holding a Pieces of Eight Contest. This vignette contest has a really short deadline, so you only have a few days to build something. The first entries are Nanuck's What I heard in the Apple Barrel, Shmails' Newbie and Porschecm2's Pirate Aura.

All three of these are really wonderful. I like the coziness of the first, the craziness of the second, and the reflections of the third.
