Well, actually, I have no idea how the old Japanese proverb goes. However, Izzo has a great gallery of vignettes based on Japanese proverbs. Hopefully Dunechaser will be able to shed some enlightenment via his Pan-Pacific Bricks blog.

Many LEGO builders publish their photos on Brickshelf, but Flickr is another great photo-sharing site. Flickr users can join together to link similarly themed photos, and recently Andrew Reynolds started a Flickr vignettes pool. Keep your eyes on this site for more great vignette creations.
