So hard to wait!
Fine Clonier Letterbox Vignette Custom Figure Contest
Jared Burks, aka Kaminoan the Fine Clonier, is holding a Letterbox Vignette Custom Figure Contest. The idea is to use custom figures made with Fine Clonier decals in a 8x12x8 vignette. For more details see this thread. Entries will be posted in this thread.
BrickFest PDX is around the corner!
Just a reminder that BrickFest PDX is next weekend (March 30-April 1). If you're anywhere near Portland, be sure to be there. Otherwise, check VB as we'll report on any vignette happenings.

ClickBrick keeps on clickin'
I've previously blogged on an annual contest held at the ClickBrick LEGO store in the Odaiba district of Tokyo. The ClickBrick store in the Tarumi-ku ward of Kobe recently held an Original Model Contest along the same lines, with several great bignette entries. The winning entry was The Park on the Hill by Rukiola.

Life on the MissisVigpi
Nathan Cunningham quotes Mark Twain(d): "Every time I read Pride and Prejudice I want to dig [Jane Austen] up and beat her over the skull with her own shin bone."

Blogroll
I've gone through and updated the blogroll found on the right hand of the front page, removing dead links and adding more LEGO themed blogs. I'm sure I'm missing tons, so if you know of some I've missed, please let me know. Thanks to the Brothers Brick; I went through your blogroll and found many links I was missing.
You can assume that these are in English unless marked otherwise. Even if you can't read the languages of some of these blogs, they're still worth checking due to the visual nature of most LEGO posts.
Blogs are divided into "active" and "inactive" based on whether there have been any updates during 2007 (checked on March 14). If your blog is listed as inactive and you're still updating it, post something about LEGO and let me know.

More dragonny goodness
Argh, I'm getting behind. He's posting them faster than I can blog them. Izzo continues his Drakkhen series with 3 more: Exterminators, Invasion, and Escape.

State of the blog
Just to follow up on VB's second anniversary, the past two years have been great for vig building. Since starting this blog, I've logged 916 vignettes, 98 bignettes, 21 v-pods, and 10 baseless vigs, created by about 321 builders. Our most prolific builder is Nelson Yrizarry, with 93 blogged creations, followed by Steve Bishop, with 72 blogged creations. Other prolific builders include Nathan Wells (30), Nathan Cunningham (28), Izzo and Moko (27 each), and Shane Larson (21). I've got 37 myself, but that's not a fair comparison since I put all of my own vig creations on the blog and only choose a selection of others' creations. There have been a number of vignette themed contests over the past year--the most significant was probably the FBTB Star Wars vignette contest. Annual bignette traditions include Mini MOC Madness in the Netherlands and the Odaiba contest in Japan. VB has also spun off another blog, MicroBricks, which focuses on microscale creations. I'm looking forward to another year of great creations; thanks for sticking with VB over the past two years.

Happy anniversary to me, again
Hey there VB fans. Once again, I missed the second anniversary of VignetteBricks (it was March 1). Thank you for patronizing this blog, and a huge thank you to all of you who have created wonderful vignette creations over the past year.

Here there be dragons
REALLY miniature golf
Bill really needs this putt. Down a stroke on the 18th with more than he can afford riding on it. At least that's how Sly420 describes this vig, golf.
