Mecha vig contest
Mecha Hub is one of the newest LEGO forums, and they're starting things off with a contest, the Exo-Force Build-Off. One of the categories is for Exo-Force themed vignettes.
G4M3
Justin Stebbins (who you may know from Saber-Scorpion's Lair Forums is writing a novel, G4M3, which he seems to be illustrating in vigs.
Speedy vig
There just aren't enough sci-fi themed vigs. Tzidik is working to turn this around with the Scavengers Spirit, the first in a series of racing speeders.

Mini-Moc-Madness
Manfred Moolhuysen reports on the Mini-Moc-Madness event at a recent Lowlug (Dutch AFOL group) meeting:
"Building a Bignette is a traditional contest called “Mini Moc Madness” during “Lowlug”-events, each time round a theme given some time in advance. For our latest gathering the assignment was “orange sentiment”, obviously refering to the colour Dutch soccer fans dress in, and other likewise related madness, but it can also be linked to the Dutch royal family (House of Orange) and in my case, to the liberation of The Netherlands in 1944-1945."
On to the bignettes themselves:
First there is Manfred's Keep them rolling - a group that preserves WWII-era vehicles celbrating the anniversary of the liberation of Holland.
Other Lowlug members (could anyone fill us in as to who built what?) made scenes like House painting.
Oops, in which some kids playing soccer break the wrong window.
Be sure to check out the other side.
Soccer fans watch the World Cup in one apartment ...
... while their neighbor tries to read.
Finally, I'm not quite sure how this guy got buried in orange.

Land of the rising vig
Thanks to Dunechaser of Pan-Pacific Bricks for helping explain some of the cultural references in these Japanese vigs. Yesterday was Tanabata, a summer holiday that traditionally involves decorating bamboo with cards and streamers. Two builders depict this: Inago100's Tanabata and Mumu's wife's Star Festival.
A vig from Mumu called Somen depicts a trendy noodle restaurant in which the noodles are served floating in a little stream past the diners.
Finally, Turbo depicts a carnival game typically played at festivals with goldfish catching.

And what will X be for, Steve?
Steve Bishop is starting off another series, with medieval characters for each letter of the alphabet. A is for alchemist, B is for blacksmith, etc.
My kingdom for an 8x8 plate
Michael Jasper is one of my favorite builders, and he's a master at small creations. While these aren't "true" vignettes (as defined here), he's got some great baseless vigs and bignettes, such as puppeteer, Self-made woman's ironing service and white rabbit.

Heroes and villains?
Hmm, a while ago Classic-Castle held a Heroes and Villains contest, with paired vignettes featuring opposing combatants. I'm not sure of the state of their marriage, but perhaps that's what ringlegomaster was going for with king and queen.
As long as we're featuring castle characters, ant1980 has posted a knight.

Jedi temple project

Attack of the killer carrots
I'm not exactly sure what's going on in this vig, and neither is Jeffery MacEachern. Perhaps he's climbed up a giant beanstalk. Perhaps he's got really good fertilizer. Either way, he's sure to win the blue ribbon at the state fair. Trapped in the giant vegetable garden
