RR Crossing

I'm guessing that TN-Factory's scene is for the annual ClickBrick contests. ClickBrick stores in Japan sell LEGO, and for the past several years they hold annual contests where the only limitation is a 16x16 footprint.

Vietnam contest

The LEGO Contest Network is running a contest called Vietnam: A Step Back in Time. Of course there's a vig category (else I wouldn't be featuring it here). For instance, see Professor McRackel's Open Fire!

Left behind

No, not the end-times book by Tim LaHaye, but rather a vig by Kaptain Kobold. Great use of perspective, even within the confines of an 8x8 footprint.

Particle Accelerator

This is a bit older, but Shane Larson's particle accelerator is a good opportunity to point out my new blog SciBricks. The goal of SciBricks is to use LEGO to teach a little science, since teaching science is my day job. Regular readers of this blog have hopefully noticed that I've rearranged the look of this blog a bit - mostly making the information on the right hand side consistent with my other blogs, but also putting a line of buttons along the top to make it easy to navigate among my various offerings. Hopefully with these changes my handful of blogs will behave more like one coherent blog, but with six sections devoted to different styles and subjects for building.

C'mon in, the water's missing

It looks like Klub LEGO Indonesia (KLI) is having a vignette contest, but I have no details on that. Anyway, Ya-da dove right in with dummy pool.

Clown Wars

You've just got to go read the whole backstory to Okayaraman's Clown Wars. Trust me on this one.

Murderous Minifigs - The Results

Murderous Minifigs - Competition Results.

Vignette Bricks' February competition, run in conjunction with the LEGO Vignettes Flickr group, was a great success with some excellent entries. Contestants were to build 8x8 vignettes inspired by the classic board game Cluedo. Go here to see all the entries.

After much debate, the judges decisions are in:

The winner in the Classic Cluedo category was Lord Pappadhum's brilliant interpretation of "Colonel Mustard, with the spanner, in the billiard room".

The winner in the Remix category was Xenomurphy's hilarious (and gory) creation; "Jean-Marc Blanc, with the Necronomicon, in the Gothic Library".

Thanks very much to everyone that entered. The quality of creations was really high and judging was tricky. Check out the group discussion over at the LEGO Vignettes Flickr group for some "highly commended" entries as well.

North and south

Whittmann's North and South has two different seasons on opposite sides of the globe (with a molten core in the center).
