Thirsty fig

I'm not sure what Michael Jasper's recent baseless vig has to do with Bavarian folklore, but that's what he's calling it. Is this an illustration from a particular story?

Avast ye, me hearties!

Only a couple of days left in the Jolly Roger Contest, so build quick! For those of us on the sidelines, though, let's check out the vignette entries, including Robinson's Castle Siege and Jalkow's JIceberg Ahead.

Neither rain nor snow nor ninjas ...

Ninjas have to learn not to mess with the postman, as learned in this pair of vigs by Ponury123.

ClickBrick

It seems it must be time for the annual ClickBrick contest. A major Japanese LEGO store holds a regular contest challenging builders to make 16x16 scenes. Recently Wabisabi's Nodame Orchestra and TN-FACTORY's Super Express N700 and 923 have appeared on Brickshelf.

This is Hallowe'en... in February

This little vig by brainbikerider is a cracker. Immediately recognisible, even from a thumbnail.

Chapter 19 - The Silver Doe

I don't know why we don't see more Harry Potter MOCs. It's a rich fictional world with a lot of great subjects, and the now-defunct official theme gave us appropriate figs, so non-customizers can easily get into the subject. Here is a great scene by MaTn, The return of Ron. For the sake of those who are waiting for movie 7 I won't give away what's going on (though you should really read the books rather than watch the movies).

Your mother was a hamster

and your father smelled of elderberries! I made this little vig to feature the figs I made for the annual Christmas fig exchange over at Classic-Castle. I debated what sort of fig I was going to make. At first I considered doing some sort of beserker, but then I thought of doing Patsy. I kind of had to include Arthur as well to give him context, though since I do not do decals I was a little less happy with my solution for him. Before they headed off, I made this little vig. I was proud of Caylin, as she pretty much guessed what I had made from my initial clue.

Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!

Fun-ettes

I've been away from blogging for a bit, but I'm coming back to a great development. SIMAFOL has come up with a series of what he calls Fun-ettes, or vigs with some action feature. He's got what looks like a WIP that brings together many vigs with scenes from the Star Wars movies. From ANH, the walls of the trash compactor close in on Han and Chewie as you turn a knob, and in a second vig we can see Ben Kenobi defeated by Vader, or so we all thought when we first saw the movie oh so many years ago.

I Find Your Lack of Faith Festive

Pellaeon uses the darkside takes puns to a very festive level:

I'm a sucker for puns. And the chrome storm trooper is a nice touch too.

The Power of the Force

Jonathan shows us the awesome power of the Force with some sweet editing skills. (Which were done in Flickr's editing cousin, Picnik)
