Priorities

Minicoop gives us a vignette reminder to keep your priorities straight. I'm going to put the whole comic in here, since his flickr gallery presents them backwards...

Hero in a Half Shell

I am loving this piece of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-related brickwork by bhanabrix.

So simple, using only a handful of bricks, yet hugely-effective. Lovely.

LEGO Book

DK Publishers recently released a boxed set: The LEGO Book, all about the hobby and another about minifigs (celebrating their 30th anniversary). There's not really anything specifically about vignettes, but in the last few pages of the book they show some fan creations, including Hippotam's Double Trouble, a previous winner from the Classic-Castle annual CCC contest, and Sachiko Akinaga's Goldfish Balloon, an entry into the annual ClickBrick 16x16 scene contest. Congratulations to both of these builders and all of those who were included.

Vig/orama Contest

Shannon rocks! He's hosting a Vig/orama Contest on MOCpages for fame, honor and swag. Follow that link for all of the rules, deadlines, etc. Show us your best! To start the ball rolling, Shannon posted a vig of his own: Murray the window washer.

Casino

1con21 has a number of scenes from a casino. The construction of the card table is really clever, and I chuckled at C3PO trying to go through the metal detector.

Pillage the Village 2

The Pillage the Village 2 contest is underway over at Classic-Pirates.com. The small category has a max size of 8x8, so we can expect to see pirate vigs like NewRight's Bye bye Brickbeard or Trubal's Quality time with friends.

Weekly challenge

A number of people on Flickr have challenged themselves to "365 projects" - to post a new picture a day each day of the year. One LEGO example is Karloswayne's Superman LEGO 365 set. Voran the Scholar has challenged himself to make a vig a week, starting with Allied Command Tent.

Congratulations, Steve!

Steve Bishop and his wife just had a baby girl. Somehow he had time to commemorate her birth in vig form. Congratulations, Steve. Now go grab a few minutes of sleep, because in a couple of hours that little cry will be demanding food or diapers or just to be held.

Don't let the bedbugs bite

Crises states that "Our fears come out at night. Do you have any?" I think now I may. Sweet dreams.

A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and ... Ahh! Ants!

In Canadaclark's Ant Farm, a happy couple's picnic is being interrupted.

When you pull back, you can see that their choice of location was not ideal.

Via Bricks in suit.

Brik Masta presents Desert Drudgery: "Patroling the hot sandstone walls, catching the constant flow of raiders coming into town, and wearing sweaty chain-mail all day. This is the average day in desert area of the Crown Kingdom."
