Adamanteum brings us Art museum. BTW, I'm intrigued by the relationship between LEGO and art. If I were more of a masochist than I am, I'd start another blog called ArtBricks. In the absence of that, I just ran across a MOCpages group on LEGO art. As of yet that group hasn't had much conversation, so I'm trying to jump start it with a couple of topics. Check it out and add your thoughts.
Posing minifigs can be frustrating. They have no knees or elbows, and what articulation there is is limited, so it is sometimes hard to get them to look natural. 74louloute has been experimenting and has come up with a number of unique poses, shown here in the Dubbing of Sir Arnault, Die you, Yellowish! and Sir Hruodland and Durandal.
These vigs were in a gallery of MOCs from a LEAHI meeting (that's the LEGO Enthusiasts' Association of Hawaii). Does anyone know the builders?
Edit - Nelson let me know that the roller coaster is by Patrick Yrizarry and the rafting is by a builder named Randy. LEAHI had a vignette contest at their May meeting with the theme "My Favorite Summer Activity", and Patrick won it. Thanks, Nelson!
I would guess the time has come for me to say hello too, and what better way to introduce myself than by highlighting this wonderful depiction of KISS by Jonathan Gilbert (Shmails)? Not technically a vignette but awesome enough for a post I would say.
So, that's it, I'm Jonas and now you know all about my childhood ;)
Kevin (Crimson Wolf) has constructed this fantastic vignette depicting an insurgent hideout where Sergeant Anglo Jackson is supposed to be hidden. The details are great, including the timed I.E.D. and the fully-loaded insurgent.
(On another note, I'm one of the new co-blogger's that Bruce hired. Great to be part of the team!)
crises_crsjust unveiled this entry into the Vignette category of the Classic Castle Battles contest. Included are a number of fun techniques, from the Dwarf Beard, to the tiles and cheese slopes. And look at the new Space Police helmet!
The creations are a little old, but I just saw this story on Wired. Legofesto made a series of scenes in protest of the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib.
I've previously blogged these as Chris brought them to a couple of fests (even winning best vig at BrickFest 09), but Chris has finally posted his own photos in celebration of his and his wife's first anniversary. Anyway, Chris made a series of five wedding cake topper vigs, each showing a significant step in their relationship. Congratulations, guys!
